Lares trek is an alternative trek to Machu Picchu for people unable to book the Inca Trail. It also offers the opportunity to learn and experience rural Andean life as the trail passes through mountainous landscape, glacier ponds and genuine textile Quechua communities. Finally we make our way by train to Aguas Calientes where we spend the night in a Hotel; next day we take first bus to Machu Picchu to see the sunrise.

A fantastic full day hike in the surroundings of Cusco, departing close from Chinchero, following through a mountain pass and finally reaching Huchuy Qosqo, an ancient Inca archaeological site perched on a cliff with stunning views over the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Huchuy Qosqo (small Cusco) is situated above the Valley of Urubamba and offers very spectacular views over the mountain range Cordillera de Vilcanota ending in Machu Picchu Sanctuary.
