International Arrival Assistance

  • Arrive in Lima at any time. Our representative will be waiting for you at Lima airport with a customized sign with your name on it and private transfer to your hotel.

Day 2

Gastronomic Tour & Lima Colonial Walking Tour

  • Breakfast at hotel. Pick up from the hotel at 09:00am. This culinary adventure will begin with a visit to the local market. You will see, smell, taste, and experience the infinite variety of textures, colors, aromas, and flavors.
  • Then, we will take you to our cooking studio where you will have a “hands-on”, learn more about Peruvian cuisine and prepare delicious local dishes. You will make an authentic Peruvian dish to tantalise your tastebuds and later enjoy your achievements.
  • You have to choose 4 options; FISH; "Sudado de Pescado" steamed fish (Main Course) or Peruvian National dish called "Ceviche". CHICKEN; "Aji de Pollo" in English chili chicken (Main Course) or "Papas a la Huancaina". MEAT; "Lomo saltado" (Main Course) or "Causa Limeña".
  • Vegetarian option; "Pimento Relleno" (Main Course) and "Solterito".
  • At the end we will enjoy the lunch prepared by ourselves.
  • At 14:00pm we continue doing the City Tour, we will show you a panoramic view of “La Huaca Pucllana”. This magnificent piece of architecture was built back in the 4th century AD and possesses Incan religious significance.
  • You will then visit the impressive Historical Downtown of Lima, also known as “the City of the Kings”, which is the cradle of its Colonial past. We will then stop at the Main Square of Lima which is home to the Government Palace, the Cathedral, and the Archbishop’s Palace.
  • Afterwards, we will visit the San Francisco Convent. The highlight of this tour will undoubtedly be the interesting, cryptic Catacumbas (catacombs).
  • Lastly, we will visit the residential and financial districts of San Isidro as well as enjoy an unforgettable view of the Pacific Ocean from the Miraflores district.
  • Around 18:30pm after the tour we will take you back to your hotel.

Day 3

Flight to Juliaca & Visit Sillustani

  • Breakfast at hotel; at 08:00am you will be collected from your hotel in Lima and transferred to airport.
  • Take flight from Lima to Juliaca.
  • In route to Juliaca-Puno you will visit the Chullpas of Sillustani, where you will be able to visit one of the largest cemeteries in the world which is home to almost 100 Chullpas (ancient funerary towers)! The specifics suggest that each of these towers stands at about 12 meters high with the width increasing from bottom-up. In keeping with ancient rites, objects such as jewelry, food, and stoneware were also placed in the tombs.
  • Arrive at Puno and transfer to your Hotel.

Day 4

Tour to Lake Titicaca (Uros Floating Islands & Taquile)

  • Breakfast at hotel; you will be picked up from your hotel at 07:00am and transferred to Puno´s port. Our journey will begin with the Uros Floating Islands. The Uros are the native people who live on these man-made islands made with cattail which is grown on Lake Titicaca. The houses are built atop, while the cooking is done outside to avoid fires.
  • After spending an hour on the Island of Uros, you will proceed to the Island of Taquile. Here you will become aware that these locals speak Quechua instead of the predominant Aymara. The Island of Taquile was once a part of the Inca Empire, which still influences the style of the buildings today. Upon arrival to the island, you will receive some brief information as well as a tour until lunchtime.
  • In the afternoon, the boat will take you back to Puno. From Puno´s port, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 5

Travel by bus from Puno to Cusco with stops

  • Breakfast at hotel; you will be picked up at 06:00am from your hotel in Puno and then transferred to the bus station where you will board the bus to Cusco.
  • The trip from Puno to Cusco takes the better part of the day, with stark, beautiful scenery in route as you travel through the high Altiplano region. You will enjoy several shorts stops to take in panoramic views and visit a historical ruin in Pucara, La Raya, Raqchi, Andahuaylillas and Sicuani where you’ll have a delicious buffet lunch and taste its unique Andean flavor.
  • Upon arrival, reception and transfer to your Cusco Hotel.

Day 6

Colorful Local Andean Village and Chinchero

  • Breakfast at hotel; pick up from the hotel at 09:00am our private transport drives to Colorful local Andean Village. This local community is called Taucca populated by 20 families and located at an elevation of 3,850 meters. The villagers will share with you their traditional Andean way of life through different activities you can engage in, like weaving demonstrations, plowing with Andean tools, etc. In addition, you will see them spin and dye wool thread using natural dyes as well as weave fabric following their ancient techniques.
  • You will enjoy a traditional lunch made by the community women from ingredients organically grown in their fields.
  • Then we continue the tour with visiting the Chinchero archeological site, a quaint little town that houses an important late 1400´s Incan outpost as well as a charming, traditional church. The locals are well-known for their preservation of traditional Andean spinning and weaving techniques. For this reason, they set up a market in the town square to sell their handmade crafts to visitors.
  • Around 16:30pm after the tour we will take you back to your hotel.

Day 7

Visit Andean School Education Project - Pisac market and ruins

  • Breakfast at hotel, pick up from the hotel at 08:00am we then will then embark on a journey back in time to the Incan´s Sacred Valley beginning in Pisac.
  • Today you will visit the Kusi Kawsay Andean School Project, you will have the opportunity to learn about Andean Cosmo vision and get a taste of how this school promoting and teaching traditional values, ayni (reciprocity), peace and stewardship for Pachamama (Mother earth).
  • Tour of Kusi Kawsay with founding member learn how to Andean Cosmo vision and work Waldorf pedagogy together to create a school rooted in tradition and educating leaders of the future. Observe the children's work including traditional craft.
  • Opportunity to support the school through the purchase of traditional crafts created by parents. Then share a traditional music together with the students.
  • Lunch at local restaurant at Sacred Valley.
  • After lunch you will visit the Pisac ancient Incan archeological site and city is located on the top of a mountain. There you will have the chance to firsthand witness the impressive stonemasonry skill of our ancient ancestors.
  • Afterwards, you will go down into the quaint little town and wander through its colorful market where you can buy intricate, beautifully crafted locally hand-made products. Back to Cusco.

Day 8

Moray - Maras Terraces of Salt & Ollantaytambo -Aguas Calientes

  • Breakfast at hotel - pick up from your hotel at 09:00am. You will set off on the road to Moray archeological site (3176m/10419ft). This site houses enormous circular and Pre-Incan semi-circular agricultural terraces that were constructed with the intention of being used as a botanical laboratory to carry out experiments on plant domestication and foreign crop acclimatization. The area stretches so long and widely that at least 3000 plant varieties, including potatoes and corn, may have been grown there.
  • Afterwards, we will carry on visiting the largest salt pans in the region “Las Salineras de Maras” that have been mined continuously, dating all the way back to the Incan Empire. This site has been exploited since the time of the Incas as a source of economic exchange.
  • Afterward lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
  • Then we will continue to Ollantaytambo, a military, religious, and agricultural center of the Incas located at the top of a mountain. Note: unlike other small towns, this one has maintained its original Incan design including outstanding stone buildings and narrow streets. It was once used as a fortress, administrative and urban center.
  • After the tour we will make our way to the Ollantaytambo train station where we will catch the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 9

Visit Machu Picchu & Back to Cusco

  • Breakfast at the hotel; at 06:00am take bus to Machu Picchu citadel, you will ride a bus to Machu Picchu archeological site (2,430m/7,972ft) and tour every nook and cranny of this New 7 Wonder of the World and UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site: an unforgettable experience. Your guide will expertly direct you throughout the astounding ruins and its main streets.
  • Around 07:30am the guided tour begins, your guide will expertly direct you throughout the astounding ruins and its main streets. You can then wander around the town squares as well as climb the intricately carved stairways made of stone. Machu Picchu is considered to be the world’s spiritual center by esoteric wisdom.
  • From 10:30am to 12:00pm once the guided tour is over, you will have some free time to explore the site on your own, relax, or meditate.
  • From 12:30pm to 13:30pm take bus to Aguas Calientes.
  • From 13:30pm to 15:00pm take lunch at local restaurant in Aguas Calientes.
  • Return to Cusco: later board the train for the return trip to Cusco. You will stop at the Poroy station and then be picked up and driven to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 10

Colorful San Pedro market - Cusco City Tour & archeological sites

  • Breakfast at hotel; at 10:00am pick up from the hotel, walking tour will begin at Colorful San Pedro market, there's probably no better market to experience Cusqueñan life. Enjoy a first-hand look at how local residents live day-to-day outside the postcard perfection of Cusco’s main square. The guide will explain the history of this market as you wander through the narrow aisles laden with colorful fabrics, meals, fruits, breads, crafts, shaman stalls, flower vendors, etc.
  • After you will visit Cusco's main square, a busy and vibrant space that marks the colonial center of the city; which features wide stone pathways and well-kept colorful gardens.
  • You will go down the narrow stairs on Hatun Rumiyoc Street. The walls of the palace have a snake and puma on it. Moreover, there you can observe the well-known 12 angle stone which is a symbol of perfection in Incan Architecture.
  • Around 12:30pm lunch at local restaurant.
  • Around 14:00pm we continue the tour; we will head to the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha) upon which the Convent of Santo Domingo has been built. Interesting fact: according to a legend, this temple was entirely gold plated which left many conquerors impressed with its magnificence when they came here!
  • The tour continues with visits to 2 archeological sites: Sacsayhuaman is an archeological complex, a masterpiece of Incan architecture in which you will see mindboggling huge stone blocks, almost 9 meters in height that are still placed perfectly. Qenqo Temple is a temple dedicated to animal worship.

Day 11

Flight to Puerto Maldonado – Excursion in the jungle

  • Breakfast at the hotel; pick up from the hotel and transfer to Cusco airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado.
  • Start your journey arriving to Puerto Maldonado, where our staff will welcome you and provide the necessary information for your stay.
  • Enjoy lunch with organic ingredients and native flavors. After lunch, take a walk through Concepcion trails, our inside property nature trails, where you will discover and learn about primary and secondary rainforest, its components, uses, transformations by the human being, and its relevance for the world. At dusk navigate by outboard motorized canoe, at the Twilight river excursion. By sailing on the Madre de Dios River, you will learn about its ecosystem, Amazonian creeks, nocturnal animals’ behavior, and the southern constellations.

Day 12

Sandoval Oxbow Lake and Canopy Walkway

  • After breakfast, get ready for a long trek through terra firma into the Tambopata National Reserve towards Lake Sandoval. Here you will understand why Madre de Dios is called the biodiversity capital of Peru, while learning about the Reserve’s conservation efforts and the lake’s formation. Navigate by dugout canoe across this mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter, blue and yellow macaw, red howler monkey, black caiman, and one of the world’s biggest fresh water scaled fish, the paiche.
  • Back to the lodge for lunch, and later the Canopy walkway and anaconda walk wait for you. Take a 20-minute ride by outboard motorized canoe to the Canopy Walkway Interpretation Center where you will learn about its construction and the conservation projects. Ascend one of the two 98-foot towers (30 m.) and cross the 7 hanging bridges that connect the treetops at 91 ft. high (28 m.). Enjoy the breathtaking vistas and get the chance to watch white-throated toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, squirrel monkeys and the three-toed sloth. After descending keep on feeling the incredible primary rainforest energy going along the 200-meter wooden bridge over the swamps. You will learn about the fauna and flora of this flooded ecosystem.
  • At night get ready for an adventure at the rainforest by night excursion, where you will explore the Amazon rainforest that gives way to nocturnal animals who display intriguing behavior patterns, and enhanced senses as adaptation mechanisms. Listen to nocturnal living nature sounds, and penetrate this hidden world.

Day 13

Native farm, Cocha excursion and visit Fitzcarrald boat

  • After early breakfast, you will take our Native farm excursion where you will be able to learn local techniques of cultivation and taste some of the products during the visit. Then visit the Botanical garden, discover the immense variety of medicinal plants considered part of the “natural pharmacy” used by the habitants at the amazon region. Compare the medicinal uses of local medicine with traditional remedies.
  • Getting back to lodge you will have lunch. Take a rest and get ready for the Cocha water excursion. Enjoy a dugout canoe ride on the Hacienda Concepcion natural pond (cocha). Try native fishing applying the “catch and release” techniques, as you enjoy the scenery observing hoatzins, a diversity of fly catchers, and gray-necked woodrails.
  • Disembark at the remains of Fitzcarrald steam boat; learn about its history and how it inspired Inkaterra to ask Werner Herzog to film the award-winning “Fitzcarraldo”, best director at Cannes, 1982. You will be able to participate in the Inland collpa during the evening, where you will see different species and their night routines by observing through our “blinds”.

Day 14

Departure from Lodge – Flight to Lima – Connect at International Flight

  • After breakfast, take a ride back to Puerto Maldonado by outboard motorized canoe. Arrive at the Butterfly House where you may wait for your flight back home or to your next destination, while visiting this beautiful Butterfly house and learning about the fascinating transformation of these colorful insects.
  • Depending on airline schedules, this may require dawn departures. Flight to Lima where you can connect at the same airport for International flight.
