The Uyuni Salt Flat is the largest and high salt desert in the world with 10 582 km². It is located at 3,650 meters above sea level in Bolivia southwest at Daniel Campos Province in Potosí. Within the highland region of the Andes mountain range.

This makes this endless white sheet that is the Uyuni Salt Flat to become confused with the sky on the distant horizon. The salt flat reflects the clouds when it is slightly covered with water. Especially between the months of January and March, in the rainy season.

The Uyuni salt flat is the largest lithium reserve in the world with 50-70% of the world’s lithium, and it also has significant amounts of potassium, boron, and magnesium. At Uyuni Salt Flat, the traditional method of salt extraction consists of forming small piles, so that the water evaporates and facilitates transport.

Surrounded by a crown of mountains, the thin layer of water that covers part of its surface produces beautiful reflections of clouds, peaks, and the odd mirage, as in any desert worth it’s salt.

The Uyuni Salt Flat is one of the main tourist destinations in Bolivia, visited by approximately 60,000 tourists each year. The best time to visit the Salar de Uyuni is November, the breeding month of the three species of elegant flamingos that live near the multiple lagoons of the place.

Galapagos Island or Colón archipelago is a province of Ecuador located 972 kilometers on the west side of the Ecuadorian coast. The capital of these islands is Puerto Baquerizo Moreno and it depends directly on the National Government.

Galapagos Island constitutes an archipelago in the Pacific Ocean and is made up of 13 large volcanic islands, 6 smaller islands, and 107 rocks and islets. The formation of the first island would have taken place more than 5 million years ago as a result of tectonic activity during the formation of the earth. The youngest islands are Isabela and Fernandina and are still in the process of formation. The most recent volcanic eruption was in 2009.

This distance and the confluence of three great ocean currents (Humboldt, Panama, and Cromwell), which tend to push anything that floats away from the coast caused the archipelago to evolve for millions of years outside of the rest of the world.

Also in Galapagos Island

This place is known in the world as the “Enchanted Islands” and all are famous for their numerous endemic species that were used for the studies of Charles Darwin that establish his evolution theory by natural selection. In addition, the flora and fauna found on the Islands are practically unique.

Whoever arrives for the first time imagines that this catalog of endemic animals will surprise them. For example, the giant Galapagos give the islands their name, and they are the longest living thing on the planet, except for the trees, since they can live up to 150 years. They were on the verge of disappearing because the galleons took them away as long-lasting food; a kind of corned beef, but with legs and a shell, come on. Other peculiar beings are the marine iguanas, endemic to the islands. Which feed on algae and don’t stop spitting salt while they remain immobile for hours on the rocks.

The historic area has an area of 348 ha. The planners who had been influenced by the Andes were able to draw in a complex relief. The checkerboards were rigorously prescribed by the Law of the Indies. The islets are 84 meters long and a central square occupies the heart of the city.

South of Lima, sea lions, Humboldt penguins, flamingos, and other protected species live in harmony. It is the Paracas National Reserve and Nazca Lines, named after sandstorms or “Paracas”, which are common in the area.

When crossing by boat to the Ballestas Islands, where literally thousands of sea lions are housed, a huge geoglyph of uncertain origin called El Candelabro can be clearly seen on the side of a hill. One more of the enigmas to which this area of Peru has accustomed us.

Paracas Island and Nazca Lines conserve coastal marine ecosystems and biological diversity. This place is responsible for use hydrobiological resources. Protect archaeological and cultural heritage for tourist use and the well-being of the population.

NAZCA LINES AND PARACAS

These ancient geoglyphs inhabit in the desert of the cities of Nasca and Palpa. All of these are a mystery even for the most experienced archaeologists. Nobody knows who, how, and why they made them.

Its imposing shapes are made in a single stroke and with a pulse that does not seem human. All are these to the liking of everyone who visits them. Impressive wherever you see them, although to appreciate them in their maximum splendor you would have to take one of the three paths already traced: climb the surrounding mountains (on foot), locate one of the observation towers that exist in the area (up to 12 meters high) or hire the service of a small plane. In the latter, do not worry, that yes or yes you will have a pilot in charge of the adventure through the skies.
