The Ancient Q'eros Community
The Q'eros Inca Community is located in the province of Paucartambo
behind the snow-capped Apu Shinak'ara in the mountain range
of Vilcanota of the department of Cusco, it has different
landscapes with variety microclimates of five ecological floors
the factor that determines its displacement form one place
to another in each season and so satisfied naturals necessities.
The Q'eros are people with deeply ancestral Incas customs
who's left the great intellectual facts of all time for
the Andes people which was passed down from generation to
generation the Q'eros people survive until now in function
to the laws of the universe and the man live together, practice
the vital cell of administrative and political organisation
the community of Q'eros is the basic, social unit where
nobody is individual owner of the lands, because those belong
to the community. Of all the Q'eros groups these are least
known, mainly because their community is remote. It is 4,800
meters. Once you get to the route into the mountains, its
is a day trek with pack horses over a 5000 meter pass then
down into the Amazonian side of the Andes. The landscape
is striking, passing alpine lakes and snow, the village
community is nestled high in the mountain valley.
Shamanic Ceremony
The Q'eros has a number of elders and shamans who still
practice authentic Incan and pre-Incan ceremonies. Because
of their isolation, some of their ritual and cultural practices
have been preserved. These ceremonies can take many hours
to complete. The shamanic tradition in the community is
very strong and the older men are quite protective and concerned
about the maintenance of their culture and shamanic ways.
Their healing work in done in their local community where
there are no medicines or hospital.
The House of the Q'eros
It's made of stone walls and raw earth straw roof in this
place live from old people until babies in lactation dogs,
cats, chickens, etc. the room has a narrow and small door
without windows that always is smoky, the room is kitchen,
dinning room, bed room, hospital when the are sick people.
The bed are collections of sheepskin and llamas skin covering
with the blankets that themselves hand-weave, they sleep
with the same clothes that they wear which are a poncho
and Unku.
Payment to the Mother Earth (Fertility)
This is a ritual of payment to the mother earth for the
fertility and good procreation of seeds, animals and men
the songs the music of the incas quechuas is the expression
of their spiritual connection since the different artistic
occidentals arrived to Tawantinsuyo land. The inca music
has a big mystery with mixture of feeling groans piercing
of spiritual.
