Puerto Maldonado - Lake Apu Victor Trip (3 days and 2 nights)

Lake Apu Victor is located only 45 minutes from our Lodge, I in the heart of the virgin jungle, LAKE APU VICTOR, is a body of beautiful crystalline waters, surrounded by extensive swamps, and gigantic trees. There is also the Mirador Amazónico, an overlook eminently suited for the purpose of bird watching. From this point we can enjoy a panoramic view of the lake as well as observe the numerous Parrots, Guacamayos (Macaws), Tucans, Camungos (Hornbill), Shanshos (Hoatzin) and Egrets, as well as other animal species that abound in the area, such as caymans, turtles and –with luck- the Giant Otter (Lutra incarum). The lake is also a natural habitat for hundreds of fish species.

Day 01: Monkey Island.
Arrival to Puerto Maldonado, the biodiversity capital of Perú. After a reception at the airport, you will take a ride for the city on our typical bus, finishing at the Port Captaincy to start a trip by the River Madre de Dios. During the trip we are can observe on the banks to Caymans, turtles, herons and other species of animals.

Arriving to the Ecoamazonia Lodge, it will be served an exquisite welcome swing. Then will come the installation in our bungalows and later the lunch. In the afternoon accompanied by our specialized guide, you will visit the first and only place in the heart of the River Madre de Dios, that is the Monkey Island, at 5 minutes od distance from la lodge. During the walk you will observe extraordinary landscapes with an exuberant flora, that shelters a great variety of species of monkeys in their natural habitat, just as "maquisapas", "martin", "leoncitos", "frailes", "achuñis", etc. and a great diversity of birds. (L+D).

Day 02: Lake Apu Victor
We will wake up with the beautiful songs of birds, and after having breakfast begins our walking to the depths of the forest, through specially prepared trails, with bridges to cross the gulches. During the walk we will observe the Cave of the Caymans. Continuing we will arrive at the majestic. LAKE APU VICTOR , of crystalline waters and surrounded of immerse swamps and gigantic trees. Later on we will ascend to our Amazon Watch Tower, where we will enjoy the panorama of the lake; observing parrots, macaws, toucans, "camungos", "shanshos", herons and other animals just as Caymans, turtles and if the luck accompanies us we will be able to observe one of the most spectacular animals in the forest, the giant otter. After several hours we will return to the lodge to have lunch. (B+L+D).

Day 03: Breakfast - Departure
Transfer to the airport of Puerto Maldonado.
