Itinerary
Day 01: Flight to Tarapoto
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Tarapoto.
Upon arrival at the airport a host will meet and assist you
in transferring to the hotel and help you in registering.

Day 02: Tarapoto-Chachapoyas
Breakfast at your hotel, we will visit Lamas, located at only
22 km from Tarapoto City. The Lamistas are descendants of
the Chancas who defeated by the Incas when trying to invade
Cusco, fled to the jungle for shelter. Lamistas still maintain
their traditions and Quechua language. Before lunch will visit
an Orc hid display, we will see jungle complex with variety
of animals from the area and have a typical lunch in a jungle
setting. Transfer to the Chillo and spend the night.

Day 03: Chachapoyas
After breakfast you will enjoy an excursion by horse to
visit the colorful funeral buildings of Revash perched on
a ledge up high on a cliff. They overlook a valley and tributary
of the Utcubamba, near the twon of Santo Tomas. The Cliff
walls at Revash are decorated with geometric designes and
figures of camelids. Some of the tombs are decorated with
T and a cross-shaped niches. Box Lunch. Then you will continue
to town of Leymebamba to visit an amazing collection of
well preserved pre-inca mummies discovered in the Laguna
de los Condores and back to Chillo to spend the night. Included:

Day 04: Kuelap
After breakfast you will visit Kuelap, a spectacular pre-Inca
walled city hidden atop a precipitous mountain. Although
Kuelap was discovered 60 years before Machu Picchu, it is
not as well-known to the outside world. Nevertheless recent
amazing discoveries in nearby areas that relate to Kuelap
and to its history have captured the attention of archaeologists,
international magazines and film companies. Box Lunch. Following
your visit to Kuelap, you will return to Chillo for the
night. Dinner and overnight at Hostal El Chillo
Day 05: Chachapoyas to Chiclayo (by Bus)
After an early breakfast you will go to Chiclayo by road.
Box Lunch included. Late afternoon arrival (journey around
9 hours) and transfer to selected hotel. Included: Lunch

Day 06: Chiclayo - Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum
Free time in the morning, In the afternoon, visit to the
Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum, where we can appreciate a Lord
of Sipan Tomb replica, additionally we will see several
ceramic pieces. Nowadays, this museum is one of the best
and modern in South America.

Day 07: Chiclayo: Tucume and Lord of Sipan
After breakfast, drive 40 minutes from Chiclayo to visit
the archaeological complex of Tucume or Valley of the Pyramids,
an important archaeological complex of the Lambayeque Culture
(BC 1,000 / 1,350 AD), consisting of pyramids from which
the extensive pre-Columbian urban site can be surveyed.
After a typical Northern dishes lunch, begin excursion to
the impressive Necropolis of Huaca Rajada, a Mochica funeral
centre where a great number of tombs have been discovered
and where the tombs of the Old Lord of Sipan (3rd Century)
and the Lord of Sipan (5th Century), famous for its objects
in gold and semi-precious stones, were unearthed in the
decade of the 1980's by Peruvian archaeologists led by Dr.
Walter Alva. Transfer to your selected hotel.

Day 08: Chiclayo to Trujillo & City Tour
Early in the morning, after breakfast, transfer to Trujillo
bus station to take the bus to Trujillo (2 hours 30 minutes
approx.). Upon arrival, transfer to your selected hotel.
In the afternoon visit the city of Trujillo, known as "the
City of the Eternal Spring", where you will visit the
Main Square, the Cathedral and the beautiful residential
and commercial areas which contain grandiose colonial houses
and well preserved porches, balconies and churches such
as the Colonial Mansions of "Casa Iturregui" and
"Casa Bracamonte". Transfer to the National University
of Trujillo Museum that contains cultural expressions of
Peru´s diverse Pre-hispanic epochs such as: ceramics,
weavings, metal, etc. Return to the Hotel

Day 09: Sol y Luna Huanchaco - Chan Chan
Breakfast at your hotel. Visit to Chan Chan, the former
capital of Chimu Empire. This Empire reached its apogee
in the 15th century, not long before falling to the Incas.
The planning of this huge city, the largest in pre-Columbian
America, reflects a strict political and social strategy,
marked by the city's division into nine 'citadels' or 'palaces'
forming autonomous units. This pre-Columbian adobe city
is famous for its archaeological site in South America!.
From Chan Chan you will visit the seashore village of Huanchaco,
known for its totora seahorses - a typical small reed boat
used for fishing. Then visit one of the most important centers
of the ancient Moche. This pre-Inca civilization, a warrior
culture, once dominated the valleys of the northern coast
of Peru. Experience the amazing adobe engineering of the
Temple of the Sun (sol), the tallest pyramid in the Americas
at a height of 48 meters, which is estimated to have involved
over 200,000 workers in its construction and over 140 million
adobe bricks. Steps away are the temple of the Moon (Luna),
the Moche political center where recently uncovered friezes
of mystical images are believed to belong to a divinity
of sacrifices. Back to the Hotel

Day 10: Flight to Lima
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival
at the airport a host will meet and assist you in transferring
to the hotel and help you in registering.
